Local-to-global Results in Variable Exponent Spaces
In this article a new method for moving from local to global results in variable exponent function spaces is presented. Several applications of the method are also given: Sobolev and trace embeddings; variable Riesz potential estimates; and maximal function inequalities in Morrey spaces are derived for unbounded domains.
متن کاملLocal Aspects of the Global Ranking of Web Pages
Started in 1998, the search engine Google estimates page importance using several parameters. PageRank is one of those. Precisely, PageRank is a distribution of probability on the Web pages that depends on the Web graph. Our purpose is to show that the PageRank can be decomposed into two terms, internal and external PageRank. These two PageRanks allow a better comprehension of the PageRank sign...
متن کاملIntegrating global and local aspects of visual occlusion.
The phenomenon of visual occlusion has frequently been studied by means of two-dimensional line drawings. These drawings may elicit various interpretations. Sometimes a mosaic of shapes is seen, sometimes a shape that partly occludes another shape. In the latter case, observers often have a clear idea about the form of the partly occluded shape. Local and global pattern aspects both seem to be ...
متن کاملSeparating Local and Global Aspects of Runtime Model Recon guration
There is a growing need for applications that are able to adapt themselves to the context of use. One promising approach for the adaptation of an application during its execution is the use of models at runtime. In this approach models of the application and its context of use are kept alive during the execution. The application can be adapted by recon guring the structure of these models. Mode...
متن کاملFrom Local to Global Consistency* from Local to Global Consistency*
In reasoning tasks involving the maintenance of consistent databases (so called "constraint net works") it is customary to enforce local consistency conditions in order to simplify the construc tion of a globally coherent model of the data. In this paper we present a relationship between the sizes of the variables' domains and the level of local consistency sufficient to ensure global con si...
